Gooooooood mornnnnninggggg from Santa Barbara!!

Yes, we moved.

Yet again... because apparently we're gypsies and can't seem to stay in one place these days. It's been a crazy past few months, but we're finally settling into life here in paradise. Since getting married to Jake, we've moved about six times in four years. It's definitely not a dull life, but I wouldn't mind settling down somewhere soon!

You might be wondering how we ended up in Santa Barbara?

Well let me give you the Cliff Notes version of our life the past 2.5 years...

We moved to Scottsdale, Arizona for a new job opportunity for Jake. While we were there, we finally became adults (in a sense). We endured trial after trial and after two years, we decided to break up with Arizona somewhat abruptly. It just wasn't for us and as you may have read in this post, if you don't like something, change it.

So we packed up everything in our 750 square foot apartment in Scottsdale, and moved to California without a single clue as to what we were going to do next. As someone who enjoys making lists and checking them twice, I was surprisingly calm about everything and we started the job hunt. Fast forward two months later, we still don't have jobs.

Commence the official freak out period. You guys, it's seriously like as soon as you think you can't go lower, GOD FINDS A WAY TO PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE. We questioned everything. I won't go into much detail because it's far too depressing and personal, but life is full of ebbs and flows and often times we just have to roll with the changes.

Then opportunity knocked on our door. Jake received a job offer very quickly from a company in Santa Barbara. We initially moved to California to be close to my family, but Santa Barbara is about two hours away from where my parents live. We hadn't considered moving so far away but when we visited Santa Barbara for Jake's interview, we fell in love fast and hard. The day after we got back from Santa Barbara after interviewing (Jake had already received a job offer), everything happened with my dad. We weren't sure if moving away would be the right choice, but our parents urged us not to pass up this opportunity. Plus, it's an easy drive when we go visit on the weekends. Within two weeks, we moved into our new little bungalow where we've been living for about a month now! Everyday I find myself thinking how I can't believe I get to live in such a stunning city. I've realized that we have to experience the lowest of lows to recognize the beauty in our everyday lives. So dang grateful to have made it through with this guy by my side. I'll never understand what I did to deserve such a thoroughly good, hard-working, handsome man who makes me laugh every single freaking day.

My heart is full.

P.S. We have 0 friends here so we took these pics using self-timer on our tripod (which is why some of them are slightly blurry), and a cute older man was walking laps around the neighborhood and at one point we were able to capture a photo of him. Like how cute is that side-eye he's giving and the raised eyebrows and the extended pointer finger and the sunglasses in his shirt? I think we're bffs now. Please see photo below:

flashed everyone from the waist down right after this, but worth it
he loves me, promise
