There's aren't many things I love more than an perfectly layered outfit for fall, but often times it can be overwhelming to layer clothing without looking 20 pounds heavier. Let a sister help you out.
STEP ONE: Get the cutest collared top you can find. I love collared tops that have a bit of embellishment to really make them pop out. I also gravitate toward sleeveless collared tops to make layering easier and less bulky.
STEP TWO: Layer on a lightweight sweater that compliments the collared top underneath. The more lightweight, the less bulky you'll look. That's the beauty of layering. You can build on top of each layer so you'll still stay warm but still look put together. I like neutral colors for the top shirt so it doesn't clash with the layers underneath. Although the sweater I'm wearing is almost the same color as my collared top, it has a nice texture to it which differentiates the layers.
STEP THREE: Since collared tops tend to give more of a preppy look, which isn't my style, I like adding an edgy component to my looks. Chokers underneath collared tops are a great way to take the look to the next level. THIS amazing chocker from Weekend Flair is the perfect finished touch.
STEP FOUR: If you're in an area that is getting colder, you can throw on your favorite chunky cardigan or coat and be out the door. Arizona is just now starting to cool down a bit, and it's still not cool enough for outerwear. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to wear coats soon!
These steps are so easy to implement and will enhance your outfits in the best way. Have a beautiful Tuesday!
