Ah! You guys! I feel like I've finally had a chance to catch my breath from the trip of my life!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamt about venturing out to the Big Apple and going to New York Fashion Week. This dream finally came true for me, and with my husband's blessing and encouragement, I left for a week BY MYSELF to NYC.

Holy smokes, I haven't been so scared to do something in a long time. First off, I don't know NYC well at all + the fact that I'm the number one most directionally challenged human on the planet = me crying. (Not to mention I'm a pretty paranoid person who thinks everyone is following me/ trying to murder me.)

Another thing that scared me was leaving Jake for almost an entire week. This was the longest we'd ever been apart since we've been married. It's strange because I used to be such an independent spirit, but over the years, I've come to rely on Jake so much and didn't realize the extent of all he helps me with until he wasn't with me. Fortunately, I was able to meet up with some of my dearest friends while I was out there, and make some new ones along the way too. And I was totally getting inside my own head before I left because once I was out there, I realized how sweet everyone is! New Yorkers definitely get a bad rep for being nasty and cold, but truthfully, I never encountered one mean soul out there. Everyone was so willing to help me and people would literally carry my 50 pound suitcase for me wherever I was. I couldn't believe it. Angels I tell ya.

I wore this look to the O'2ND presentation and may have found one of my new favorite designers. Honestly was so in love with every single piece. I'll be doing a separate post on my experience at that show so stay tuned for that! I chose to go with a fall inspired look that was both comfortable and chic. Plus faux fur collared coats are definitely having a moment with me. I mean, THIS one? I could die right now. Also, if you're looking for a good investment bag that is equal parts functional, classic, and chic, look no further. This LOEFFLER RANDALL bag is high end and looks a lot like a Proenza Schouler but minus a few digits on the price tag. The matte, black hardware with the black, pebbled leather is super luxurious. And if you're like me and appreciate bags with good organization inside, this one tops the charts.

K well I'll be posting all things NYFW all week so make sure you stop by tomorrow!! At the end, I may have a special treat for you guys too. ;) xoxo
